For parents
Your child’s student visa, through their program
If your child’s yeshiva or seminary works with IsraelExpat, you upload two documents and we take care of the visa. Start from the link your program sent you.
No link yet?
Ask your child’s program office for its IsraelExpat link. IsraelExpat works only through enrolled programs, so there is no separate parent application.
If the program isn’t enrolled yet, send the office our page for institutions.
How it works
About 15 minutes of your time
1
Open your program’s link
Use the link from your child’s program and create an account. If the program already added your child, log in with that account.
2
Upload two documents
A scan of the passport and a scan of the birth certificate. You can do this before the flight.
3
We file after arrival
Once your child lands and the program confirms it, we prepare and submit the file. We tell you when the visa is ready to collect.
Before you start
Your program tells you whether parents pay. Visas are $499 at partner programs and $599 otherwise, plus $150 when a parent is an Israeli citizen.
- Passport scan, valid at least six months past the planned stay
- Birth certificate scan
- A card for payment, if your program asked parents to pay
- An approved ETA-IL for your child’s flight to Israel
Questions parents ask
When will the visa be ready?
Usually 7 to 10 business days after we submit the file, which happens once your child has landed. Timing is set by the Population and Immigration Authority, so we can’t promise an exact date.
Can I do my part before my child flies?
Yes, and we recommend it. Upload the documents any time. We file only after the program confirms your child has arrived.
Where can I see the status?
Log in to your dashboard to see where your child’s application stands. We also email you when the visa is ready to collect.
My child’s program doesn’t use IsraelExpat. Can I apply directly?
No. We work only through enrolled programs. Ask the program office to enroll; it’s free for the program.
Questions about your child’s application?
Send us a message and we’ll get back to you.
